Host a GrowTeam
Are you a Vermont farm or garden interested in joining the effort? If so, we would love to bring you on as a site partner!
Basic expectations of our site partners:
- Capability to provide volunteers with fresh produce (Either a CSA share, weekly harvest day, or freedom to take vegetables home on work days).
- A “farmer mentor” (farm manager or site coordinator) to plan the garden, provide agricultural expertise, direct group and individual work sessions and maintain infrastructure. We anticipate this individual will be available ~5-15 hrs/week depending on the site size and programming.
- A site that is ready to plant or has access to required tools to till and create farm or garden space.
Ready to sign up your site? Here are the next steps:
ShiftMeals will work with you to get your site posted on our GrowTeam page.
Volunteers sign up indicating interest in your site.
ShiftMeals will send you a list of volunteers who are interested and support you in getting your volunteers signed up.
Throughout the season, ShiftMeals will provide supporting education, promotion, and celebration for all participating sites and volunteers.
We’re here to help!
To get gardens growing, we support garden infrastructure through partnerships, community donations, and assist in organizing teams, securing farm mentors, providing educational opportunities for volunteers and planning garden space if needed.
We are actively working to reach new communities and identify supporting resources.
We are adhearing to Standard Operating Procedures for hosting volunteers during COVID-19 crisis.
